Everton have completed a move for Greek defender Kostas Manolas, after a fee of £500,000 has been agreed with AEK Athens. The Toffees have already agreed personal terms with the centre back, who will pen a four year contract at Goodison Park.

AEK Athens have been struggling financially in recent years, and have been forced to part with some of their best players, and Manolas heads the departures.

Manolas had a 4 million Euro release clause, but the cash strapped club were forced to sell the player cheaply this month.

Everton have beaten Newcastle, Everton and Blackburn to Manolas’ signature.

Arsenal will today complete the signing of Borussia Dortmund playmaker Thomas Eisfeld. The midfielder’s contract at the Westfalenstadion expires at the end of the year, and the German has decided not to extend his spell with BVB.

Arsenal will pay around 400,000 GBP compensation for the player, who sustained a serious injury in 2009. The Gunners are having thorough medical examinations on Eisfeld before completing a deal for the player.

Eisfeld has been playing for the under-19′s this year, and has not yet forced his way into the first team.

Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has no plans to leave the Britannia Stadium despite talk of a move away this month. Pennant is unhappy that he has spent time on the substitutes bench this season.

Pennant said: “I’m in no rush to be going anywhere. I’ve not asked to leave and the club has not given a signal they want me to leave.

“As soon as the transfer window is over then I won’t have to answer these questions any more, and everyone will know I’ll be here.

“It’s frustrating for any player. You always want to start and play 90 minutes, but if it’s not happening then you have to keep plugging away.

“If you then get 40 minutes and you make some contribution to the game, then brilliant, like I have done in the last two games when I’ve come on and made a goal.

“Everyone knows what I’m capable of – I do as well – so when I get my chance, I’ll take it.

“The manager and I haven’t really spoken about why I’m not playing or when I’m going to play.

“He’s picking the team and it’s doing well, but I’m sure when I’m needed I’ll get that first-choice nod.”

Roberto Martinez‘s 3 million offer for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa has been rejected. According to reports, Wigan, Arsenal and Newcastle are all in the running for the 25 year old’s signature.

With just 18 months remaining on his current contract at Vicarage Road, Watford are ready to sell the defender who has spent his whole career with the club at a reduced rate.

However, Watford will only consider offers greater than 4 million GBP for Mariappa, and it is understood that Wigan will make another bid before the transfer window slams shut this evening.

Bayer Leverkusen have completed a loan move for Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka until the end of the season. The Croatian has fallen out of favour behind Kyle Walker at White Hart Lane, and will spend the remainder of the season in Germany.

Corluka has signed on with Leverkusen, who have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the year.

Harry Redknapp told Corluka that he is free to leave the club two months ago, and has been waiting for an opportunity away from Spurs.

“Corluka is a good professional who can immediately give our team a quality boost,” said Bayer CEO Wolfgang Holzhaeuser in a statement.

West Bromwich Albion are on the cusp of completing a move for Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell today. The defender is currently in talks with Albion and is undergoing a medical, WBA will pay around 2.75 million GBP for the player.

“I expect the deal to be completed and for him to be a West Bromwich Albion player by the end of the day,” WBA manager Hodgson said.

“It was never going to be a possibility he would be signed in time for tomorrow’s game and there is no rush in that respect.

“We’ve signed him for the long term, not just for the next game.

“It will be good to have him here. He’s been a transfer target since the summer.

“He’s a very experienced player. He’s left sided, which is also very useful to us because we don’t have many left-sided defenders in the club.

“He has the added advantage that he is experienced in two positions – left-back and left centre-back.

“He’s also used to playing in teams that are under pressure to get results. We’re hoping we won’t be under that much pressure but, if we are, it will be nice to have someone who has been there before and knows what it’s all about.”

Inter Milan have completed the loan signing of Colombian midfielder Freddy Guarin. The player will complete a season long loan move from Portuguese giants Porto.

Inter manager Claudio Ranieri has been chasing Guarin for over three months, and has finally completed a deal that can be made permanent in June for 11 million Euros.

“Guarin is a player that I like,” said Inter manager Ranieri.

“He has an important physical presence, quality and I think he’ll give us a helping hand. He’s just what we need.

“Now we just need time to ensure that he gets back into form. We hope to have him with us soon so he can begin to adapt to our football and give what we want from him.”

AC Milan have completed a season long loan move for Ghanaian international midfielder Sulley Muntari. The player will join from city rivals Inter Milan, who today signed Fredy Guarin from Porto.

Muntari had a spell on loan with Sunderland last season, but failed to impress enough to be offered a permanent deal at the club.

“AC Milan announces it has acquired Sulley Muntari on a temporary loan,” AC Milan wrote in a statement.

Muntari’s contract with Inter Milan expires at the end of the season, and AC Milan could make a permanent move for the midfielder then.

Paris St Germain have completed the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Thiago Motta, who arrives in France on loan for a fee believed to be in the region of 7.5 million GBP. Motta links up with his former manager, Leonardo, who is director of football at the French giants.

Motta has put pen to paper on a 2 and a half year contract at the Parc des Princes. Motta had been linked with a move to France for several weeks, but there appeared to be some delay when agreeing a fee between the two clubs.

The midfielder played over 50 games for Inter Milan, scoring 11 goals. Motta is expected to be part of a new look midfield for PSG, alongside Blaise Matuidi, Javier Pastore and Jeremy Menez.

Norwich have reportedly rejected an offer from Rangers for striker Grant Holt. The 30 year old has been in stunning form for the Canaries this year, and the Scottish side had hoped to sign Holt as a replacement for Nikica Jelavic.

Nikica Jelavic is expected to complete a move down south to Everton tonight, and Rangers are currently busy trying to find a replacement for the Croatian.

According to reports from Scotland, Ally McCoist contacted Paul Lambert regarding Holt’s availability, and made an enquiry and then a 2 million GBP offer for the striker. Norwich rejected the offer, but there could still be time for a deal to be completed.
